FRIENDS’ SCHEME

The EMF Friends’ Scheme offers you the chance to support the important work of the Festival. The EMF receives no governmental or major, long-term corporate funding; and running such a high-profile Festival and wide range of activities is extremely expensive: the generosity of our Friends is, therefore, invaluable in enabling the Festival to expand and develop.

The Friends’ Scheme has seven tiers for individuals, each offering an extensive range of benefits; and these are detailed below. We have also recently introduced a tier for Corporate Friends — so, if you own, or help to run, a company or a similar organisation, and would like to enjoy the special benefits that this tier offers, please do consider joining at this level.

On 9 March, at the Conway Hall in London, cellist Raphael Wallfisch, American tenor Brian Thorsett, violinist Rupert Marshall-Luck and pianist Michael Dussek will present a very special evening of music by leading British composers to raise vital funds for the acclaimed English Music Festival. The evening’s programme will comprise the Cello Sonata of Frank Bridge, the Sonata for Violin and Piano by Edward Elgar, and songs by Purcell, Arne, Byrd and Vaughan Williams. We are delighted to announce the programme for the 2024 May EMF. This year, for the first time, all our events will be held in Dorchester-on-Thames, with the concerts taking place in the glorious surroundings of Dorchester Abbey; the talks in the historic Village Hall. The full programme, with details of venues, works and artists, may be seen on this page. Booking for Friends of the Festival will open in early March, with general booking opening two weeks later; tickets will be available by post or through our online Box Office.
